This fun tour begins on a gentle note with a trip to Opaekaa Falls, a roadside stop at a beautiful waterfall used in many features over the years. Next we go to the historic Coco Palms resort, location for Blue Hawaii, South Pacific, Fantasy Island and many, many more features. Closed in 1992, the resort is now completely fenced off to public access.
This is the only company allowed to tour the grounds. After a quick zip thru Lydgate Beach park and spinning a few scenes, we head off to the remote and very famous Wailua Falls, made famous in the opening scene of the original Fantasy Island TV series. We will show several other clips which featured this stunning waterfall, including The Amazing Race 3, a popular television series. Then it's off to a remote beach for lunch. This beautiful beach was used in Donovan's Reef, Voodoo Island, Pagan Love Song and Six Days, Seven Nights. Lunch includes a deli turkey sandwich, wonderful pasta salad, chips and beverages.
Feeling full and satisfied, we are then off to the breathtaking Kipu Ranch. With 2,500 acres of lush meadows and towering mountains, this working cattle ranch has been home to some of Hollywood's biggest, including Raiders of The Lost Ark, The Lost World, Outbreak, Mighty Joe Young and others.
We'll travel the ranch, finding all the nooks and crannies Hollywood immortalized on screen. This is a place modern day Kauai has forgotten and you will leave all your cares behind as we slowly drive thru over 2500 head of cattle. Feed wild boar who come down from the mountains. See stunning peacocks everywhere and if we are lucky, we will see the endangered Nene Goose, Hawaii's state bird. At each spot on the tour where a movie was made, we show you the scene made at the exact location you are at. Hawaii Movie Tours is the only company ever allowed to take 4x4 van tours of this very special place.
Another stop at the Ranch is one of the most famous scenes in Raiders, where Harrison Ford swung on the rope into the river to escape the Indians chasing him. Hear hilarious stories of what happened during filming.
You will have seen parts of Kauai nobody else will have seen unless they took this tour. This a full day adventure, a one of a kind adventure made special by seeing places others cannot get to.
